Stages SC1 vs SC2

Stages Spin Bike FAQ: SC1 vs SC2

1) What are the primary differences between the SC1 and SC2?

Whilst both bikes are effective training tools, there are a few physical and technological differences between the SC1 and SC2, including;

  • Weight: the SC2 is slightly lighter than the SC1, weighing in at 43kg versus 51.5kg
  • SprintShift: the SC2 is equipped with Stages SprintShift resistance lever which allows for rapid changing between resistance levels
  • Q-Factor: the SC2 has a Q-factor of 158mm versus the SC1’s 169mm. The Q-factor is a measurement of the distance between the outside of one crank arm to the outside of the other. A lower Q-factor is generally advised to provide a more realistic riding experience.

2) Are both models compatible with the Stages power meter and able to connect to external devices and apps?

Yes. Both bikes can be equipped with the Stages power meter which can transmit the data to popular head units and fitness apps like Zwift, Rouvy and TrainerRoad.

3) How does the SprintShift resistance on the SC2 differ from the SC1?

The SprintShift feature on the SC2 enables instantaneous macro-level resistance changes without having to turn the dial.

It uses a three-stage lever and custom workload setting to allow the rider instant control.

4) What kind of warranty comes with the Stages SC1 and SC2?

The Stages SC2 comes with a 15 year warranty on the frame and the SC1 frame has 10 years.

Both the SC1 and SC2 come with a 10 year warranty on the drive train (Carbon Fibre belt), as well as a 3 year bike component warranty.

5) Will the Stages SC1 and SC2 require assembly?

Both bikes include free delivery and professional installation to ensure they’re set up properly in your home or studio.
